Joining Dext was an exciting part of my career - I was
joining a fast-paced company in the midst of scaling. I
embraced the challenge of transforming how users engage

closely with product, marketing, and technical teams.
As my role expanded, I found myself increasingly

Operations Lead
Over time my role at DAE transitioned into more project
and operations work. I had a background in computer
science and wanted to bring modern technology to an
traditional company.
As a result, I successfully led a major digital
transformation project at DAE, transitioning business
workflows to digital platforms, resulting in a near 30%
improvement in operational efficiency.
This role was a more strategic overheard role involving analysis
and reporting on operational data to guide critical business
decisions, along with managing financial forecasting and
day-to-day accounting. Through this I was able to hone my
skills spanning project management,operations, accounting,
business process improvement, and financial analysis.

Accounting Specialist
At DAE I started as the go-to person for keeping our
financials in check and making sure everything added up
just right. A large portion of the work initially was
managing the books day to day and ensuring every penny
was accounted for. I played a key role in shaping our
financial story, handling invoicing, reconciliations,
and overall financial reporting. I also learned about
some of the complexities of the Canadian payroll system.
My days were filled with numbers, learning and some
less than 'exciting' tasks, but I enjoyed the responsbility
and experience.
Associate
At LiveCA, I found myself in the midst of an new
landscape, managing the books for over 25 clients. As
Canada's first cloud accounting firm, many of our
clients were forward thinking startups and tech
companies hitting their stride.
There was a learning curve, but each day brought new
insights as I navigated the financial intricacies of these
rapidly scaling businesses. Regular chats with clients were
less about ticking boxes and more about gaining perspective.
This is where I really developed my passion for
tech; I was absorbing stories of growth and challenge,
understanding the nuts and bolts of different
industries. This experience really shaped my view on the
financial journeys of businesses. It was here that I
honed my knack for making sense of complex data, turning
it into something meaningful and accessible.

Freelance Bookkeeper
2016 - 2018
Bookkeeper
During my time as a self-employed Bookkeeper, I embraced
the challenge and independence of managing a diverse set
of bookkeeping tasks. I handled all aspects of
bookkeeping, account reconciliation, tax filing and
financial report preparation.
This experience sharpened my abilities in financial analysis
and client communication. It highlighted the importance of
building trust with clients and delivering consistent, high-quality
work. It laid a solid foundation for my expertise in accounting,
paving the way for more complex roles in the financial sector.
Area Manager
When I started as an Area Manager at Little Caesars, my
journey was not just about managing pizza stores; it was
a unique chapter where I joined forces with my uncle,
who owned the franchises. I wanted to gain real-world
experience with the world of business operations and
leadership, and this was an opportunity to do so.
My role involved overseeing operations across several
locations, where I applied a blend of learned knowledge
and my unique technical background to improve
operations. I led the push for us to become one of the
first locations in Manitoba to leverage digital POS
systems, embrace online systems and put resources into
digital marketing. This led to impressive results,
including increasing revenue by over 20% year-over-year,
15% lower operational costs, and a 60% lower turnover
rate than the LC national average.
Working alongside my uncle, I absorbed the essentials of
small business management and the nuances of operational
efficiency. The digital systems I implemented allowed us
to have enhanced reporting, and understand key areas
with greater detail than others.
